We're home!

It's been like a strange time warp where we drive and see things and experience everything then go back into the RV and it's like we never left Benicia California. It's a strange comfort to come in here after a long day and use your own shampoo grab a Q tip when u need it change your shirt on the go when u get BBQ sauce on it...no wonder people vacation in these things. Of course I didn't drive it even once! Kevin had to do it all himself. He is such a good man! Think I'll keep him. I'm being extra nice this week as July 30 th is our 29 th year anniversary. This year we plan to go to a near by Moroccan restaurant to celebrate.
I like Indiana it reminds me of Ohio and missouri. You know you are back east!
We went to get pizza and the young girls there asked us where we were from we told them California they asked in unison " why did u move here!!!!". Made us laugh.
The rv spot is lovely on the end near extra parking and it has a tree for shade and a picnic table. I'm ready to settle in for the next month. Tifka will be home on Wednesday so we plan a BBQ dinner and happy food to welcome her. Now Cassie's on her own and we plan to tempt her to visit before winter.
So now that we are somewhat settled that's the end of the blog. Real life from now on. Remember to send us PERSONAL emails we love hearing from you and your life stories
Love u all thanks for reading

Illinois

We are out of missouri and in the little bit of Illinois next to Indiana. No problems and still hot and one highlight was stoping in st Louis mo for lunch at Pappy's it was in the ghetto area and we were worried about leaving the rv in an

abandoned lot but Kevin and Tifka had worked this all out over the phone she had researched it for us. It was featured on man vs food and travel Chanel and more places I can't remember we met the owner and had fantastic BBQ dry rubb didn't need sauce but they had some that was yummy there was a long line but it move fast and we got our order 3 min after ordering and they stay open till they run out! Ha.
Now we in a lovely rv park in brownstown il and guess what! We studied our watchtower at picnic table and was so encouraged by it that we took opportunities to witness together to the receptionist at the front desk ( I went in for marshmallows ) we talked a half hour or more oh it made our faces shine w joy. All week we not been out in service and we missed it woo hoooo we got to use Jahs name and I'm leaving scriptures and my email address for her to continue the conversation now we get up and need to get to Indianapolis mañana and be set up showered and ready for their meeting by 3:30
Love all of u wonderful people thanks for reading!

We made it just outside Joplin missouri to a camp sight out in the boonies just as the sun was going down we raced to set up the rv and if it was you calling at this time sorry! We couldn't get to the phone but will call u mañana :-).
We blasted thru Oklahoma 110 degrees again land flat and pretty clouds and trees that look like broccoli only thing against it is the stupid toll road from oklahoma city to Joplin mo. They want exact change and that got kevin and I to scrounging for change like mad men and it came in strange increments 1.15 then 4.00 then .35 cents. Ughhh we finally got enough change to get thru ok with no over night stay. We are in Missouri out in the boonies in a crazy make shift campground that looks like someone's back yard but the lady was so friendly and helpful. We are at Hardee's for dinner ( Carls jr for u west coast people)
I've been listening to pandora and French music and Adele kevin is listening to watchtowers and song za. I get so board looking at the back end of our rv that I sing songs at the top of my voice stretch put make up on and any thing that makes me wiggle :-)
Ok that's it for tonight we gonna crash
Love u all

Pictures from the journey...so far..

Well we got up at 4 am and drove to the Grand Canyon and got there exactly at 5:30 am 3 minutes before the sun rose over the rim.  Awe inspiring!  Jehovah is the best artist and Creator of all things.  with the clouds and the colors of the dirt and deep canyons it was so beautiful.  One of the lovely moments of our life together.
we got back to the Rv and our park and left by 9 or so.  Arizona was beautiful and cooler in the Flagstaff area so it was tollerable. We staid the night in Grants Arizona and left early this am.  All the days are bluring together its hard to remember where we were and when.  However we were both amazed at how beautiful New Mexico is.  It is an over looked state and we both decided it is the most beautiful of deserts.  It was high enough for green to be showing and short stumpy pine trees and flatt mesas and the clouds were unbelievable so soft and fluffy looking floating high up but close enough you felt you could reach up and touch them.  We stoped for coffee and there were native americans all through out the buisness and at the gas pumps.  I think they are a beautiful race and so dignified and as we passed by each person would wish us a good morning.  so this is our favorite state as of now.
we are in Amarillo Tx where everything is Bigger than anything else!  we went to a funny place that has Texas memorablia all over the building, Steer horns everywhere and cow hide table cloths.waitresses dressed as cowgirls, fun and delicious steak...melt in your mouth like butter.
now kevin is messing in the RV to find a way to prevent the motor heat from frying his foot.  It is coming in thru a cover over the engine.  It has been 90 to 100 degrees and then with that on his foot he is roasting!
i am a comfortable pig all the time as i drive the lincoln and as long as i dont push it too hard and keep the air conditioner on low it keeps it from over heating.  i keep thinking of offering to drive the RV but then I see the near misses behind kevins driving with the other semi trucks and chicken out.
We liked the park last night but after we settled in we found out it is right next to trains.  So that kept us awake and up during the night.  now we are in a lovely park in Amarillo Tx...and guess what, after parking and paying we found out we are under the airport flight path!  large planes overhead every half an hour...I think i will take a sleeping pill.
ok thats it for tonight
thank all of you for the emails and texts and phone conversations
we love you and miss you

Near the grand canyon

We finally got out of California today and ended up in williams Arizona. 450 miles made today. We had drama w the tires and ended up being talked into 2 used tires for the front of the RV from a non reputable tire place. Didn't see the Yelp till too late and 500.00 less ! Ughhh but kevin says the RV drives better and we did have a screw in the side wall of one of them then we used the old tire as a spare as ours was flat. It was 111 and we were working on half a brain from heat and scare tactic. So now we are going to grand canyon in am leaving the Rv at the park space early in am to try catch the sunrise and be back by 11. Ok will do this again soon love u all

We made it to Bakersfield California.  I kept falling asleep at the wheel. And I had airconditioning and comfort...poor Kevin had the RV with "natural air".  It was 100 degrees and up to 105.  Way toooo hot for fun travel and everything is dryed up and flatt from our view.  We found a lovely RV Park on the outside of this town that is older and has a shade tree for each space. Whew it really helps.
we are still remembering our going away party that Crystal and Ben threw for us.  there were many from the congregation there and a pile of BBQ food and cake ...DElicious.  We had a lovely visit with each of the friends, and then we heard that our dear friend Lois was going to emergency, she wouldnt let us visit till she found out her health issues.  Fortunately she is doing fine now and under treatment and at home.  Thank Jehovah it wasnt more serious.  Then came the time to say thank you and good bye to all the friends at the party...ughhh the hard part.  I got to the last few before I started crying.  I hate crying.  but they were so sweet and nice, and the nicer you are the more I cry.  Just give me a good slap instead. smile> Kevin tears fell as well and we made a quick get away in our hot rod lincoln.  We were all packed and ready to go this morning and it took less than an hour to unhook the hoses and wires.  Seriously the easiest move I have ever made.
Its been a crazy adventure.  I still am sad as a good friend of mine Jeanie Cox from Carson city died this week.  Her daughter had just died earlier this year from MS.  so with fun things sad and worrisome things are mixed in.  Thats just life, right?
We are planing to get up early and leave by 6 am manana and try to get to flagstaff AZ but it is nearly 8 hour drive so I am not sure if I can do it but we will try.  Take care and I love all the emails and texts and phone calls please keep them coming'
you are loved

It is late on Saturday Evening, we just finished a burger from the corner 76 gas station (which is fabulous) because we were both too wiped out to cook.  It has been a whirl wind of a week leading up to our departure for Indianapolis Indiana.  Our friends Abel and Vivian met us in Visalia California and we paired up to see the Sequoia national park, Yosemite, Napa, and downtown San Fransisco.  We put our feet in clear cold river water, drank delicious wine from FRANCIS FORD COPPOLA and saw the fog over the golden gate.

Because we have been so busy it had not set into my mind that we were actually leaving.  It didn't help that our friends were so pleasantly surprised at all the beauty and comfort here in Benicia California.  it made me think...why am I leaving again?  Juanita and David are just the most recent friends who hosted us a pig fat party here at our RV. ( Oh if you didnt know we are now living in a large coach Winnebago.)  David learned of this food treat from Russia where you roast over a open fire pig fat then grease up your bread and dig in! Delicious and fun. We were last week at Mark and Denise house eating hand made Italian pizzas!  tomorrow we are looking forward to being a guest for one last time at Crystal and Bens house for a going away party.  We have been so loved and cared for here, I am gong to miss my service partners and fellow foodies!

I have to pack to move...which is really funny to say as it really is just a matter of batten down the hatches and start the motor and hope Kevin doesn't hit the corners getting out of our little slot in the trailer park.  We had gotten rid of all our stuff like furniture etc and were down to one car and the RV.  Then we had the return of HARRY...the car that is half a car and half a truck.  We had sold it to my Dad but silly Nevada wont let it pass inspection even though it passes California and has a clean smog check.  Now that is the BIG stress is what to do with it. Oh well we hope the junk yard will take it.

So the main hope of this move is to do more in SERVICE actual door to door and Kevin might even have the circumstance to Regular Pioneer again.  It is his goal.  I am still off list and will be evaluating my energy to see what more I can do as well...no promises yet , smile.

So here we are, 2 days from driving across country to settle and live in Indianapolis.  Please keep us in your prayers...love Kathleen,
